International Truck Company logistics routes
The case study is based on the analysis of logistics routes for the International Truck Company. Taking into account some variables fixed (Distance, Fuel Consumption, Type of Truck Transport, Human Resource Cost and Cost of Houses) develop a matrix, which identified the main points of delivery.
The development of the analysis was base on the number of pallets to be fit in a specific transport type beside stack constrains such as material Collision (Chests, cabinets, doors, windshield ) These materials take up much volume as well as that for reasons of space is important to consider the package they have for their protection. Another important constrain is the total carrying weight.
Once taken into account the above constraints and definitions, The case study compares logistics costs with demand at each selling point, which led to craft alternative logistics routes and procedures to fulfill the demand.
The case study concludes by proposing a logistics route (milk run) for small selling points as a viable alternative to reduce cost and speeding up responsiveness and achieving $100,000 USD per occurrence.
